Swimming, Swimming in the Swimming Pool

When days are hot and days are cool in the swimming pool

Sweet Pea started her Infant Aquatics Survival swim lessons this week. The program is geared toward teaching infants and children how to float and survive in the water. After hearing about the program from friends, Hubby and I went to observe and watched a 16 month old swim across the pool, roll to her back to rest and breathe, and then roll back over and continue swimming. There where also 4 and 5 year olds that had been involved in the program since infancy doing laps using actual strokes. With as much as Hubby and I are in and around the water we want Sweet Pea to be able to enjoy the water and most importantly be safe.
So far Sweet Pea has learned to put her head under water, look for and reach for your hands and grab them. Next she learns to float on her back.
