Sweet Pea is Walking

Sweet Pea has taken her first steps and then a couple hundred thousand to follow. She started with 4 steps on her own May 25th, which was the Sunday after her birthday. The next day she took a few more and by the end of the week she was walking all around the house. Now she is non-stop all over the house, yard, park etc.

We have been enjoying the weather and taking advantage to have lots of picnics in the park. Sweet Pea is a great eater now. Her favorites are grapes, and pita spinach pizzas from the deliciously deceptive cookbook.

We have also been swimming lots. Every Monday through Thursday Sweet Pea does her swimming lessons and then she gets to play in her backyard pool a few times a week. She is doing great with her swim lessons. She has learned to kick her feet and reach out to a hand or object to pull herself up. In her kiddie-pool she has a blast. She splashes, kicks, and laughs. We actually have to be careful to put the pool away when we are not using it or she dives into it, clothing and all, whenever she goes outside.

The furry kids are doing well. Clay was having a lot of problems with his hips. He is over 14 years old and he just has pretty bad arthritis. So we started him on some joint diet food and some medications (which he hates and spits on the floor every morning even with the pill pockets) and he is feeling much better. He can walk to the end of the road and last week went all the way around the block. Hubby and I put him in the burley a few days ago and took him to the park and he had such a fantastic time. He would walk around and sniff trees and then lay down for a while then get back up sniff a few things and find a new tree to lay under. Tar-tar is doing really well too. He has gained some weight back and is just as cuddly as ever.
